• I was really surprised by the news that you can now share Hipstamatic photos via Instagram. The two products aren’t identical, but it suggests Instagram is thinking about being more of a generic photo-sharing service. However Instagram is massively lacking on features that would make it be useful for that (e.g. galleries), so perhaps it’s just a ‘nice to have’ addition.
• Game Group surprised no one by filing for administration this week. I don’t pretend to know a lot about business, but whenever I go into a GAME/Gamestation store it’s always full of people; there’s definitely a need for high street video game stores, so Game Group must have done something massively wrong. It’ll be interesting to see what happens next.
