Project 365 #51 – Giving chase

We had a surprisingly sunny day, and Derek (our cat) used the opportunity to stretch her legs a bit. I wanted to experiment with catching her running, mostly to try and get a hover-cat photo, so I brought her favourite mouse toy outside for her to play with. I didn’t quite achieve my hover-cat photo (I got a great one but it’s blurry, guess the 600D isn’t ideal for fast-moving focus tracking) but this is pretty cute anyway.

Black cats are annoying to photograph; they screw with the autoexposure; I had to bump up the shadows quite a lot in post-processing to stop her being a black blob.
