Project 365 #6 – A delivery of snow

Today was probably the first day of ‘real’ snow in the UK this year. This was the scene on Leonard Street in Shoreditch, London, where I’m working at the moment. These two Royal Mail vans stopped for a quick chat (probably about the weather).

I love that the Royal Mail vans indicate it is England, while the two people with umbrellas add variety to the scene.

In post-processing I tweaked the colours by ‘incorrectly’ setting the white balance to be too blue then used split toning to correct the highlights back to white. This makes the photo look cold, while avoiding making the snow blue. Obviously I also removed the number plates.

Antonia particularly likes this one, and suggested it should be my Project 365 photo for the day :).
